Halloween Makeup Tutorial: Possessed by Drew Disaster

Hello darlings!

More makeup tutorials are on the way, as is the second half of the Halloween collection. Work is eating up all my spare time right now...o.O

Today's tutorial is by Drew Disaster.

I LOVE this tutorial! A lot of the techniques used in it can be applied to Visual Kei as well, and I like that she uses lower-priced makeup and tells you where to find it, for those of us who can't afford a M.A.C. pallette. ;3

She's going to be posting a lot more videos so don't forget to subscribe to her page! She does a lot of DIY and cosplay videos as well.

Back to prepping for Kikori con. As always...stay fabulous!

Gothic Lolita Outfit and Tutorial

Hello darlings!
Kawaii Pateen has been posting tons of awesome tutorials as of late, and with Kikori Con fast approaching I wanted to share what I found with you guys to give you ideas for your cosplays and Jfashion outfits!

This one was uploaded yesterday, and is a kawaii Gothic Lolita tutorial by Japanese model MOCO. I LOVE this look. It's a great look if you want to go a bit cuter with your look and not quite so edgy. :3 This video is in Japanese, with English subtitles. As with all of their videos, the tutorial is super details and very easy to follow. Before the tutorial MOCO also shows us the outfit she chose and where she got the pieces.

As always, let us know if you try this tutorial and send pics/video for us to feature!

Other non-tutorial stuff coming soon, I swear. xD

Stay fabulous and fierce!

Tuesday Halloween Makeup Tutorial: Porcelain/Broken/Possessed Doll

So Alexa Poletti posted an AWESOME tutorial this last weekend for doll makeup, and I knew I had to post it here, because this would work SO amazingly well with lolita and visual kei outfits! She starts with a basic porcelain doll, then adds cracks, and then finishes with the possessed doll. All three are super detailed, she explains what makeup she uses and why, right down to wig and costume. :3

As always, if you use any of these tutorials, let us know if you use them in the comments and tell us how they turn out!

News and Sunday Makeup Tutorial: Japanese Courtesan

Hello darlings!

It's Sunday, and a quiet day for most. :3 Gearing up for the workweek and continuing prep for Kikori con and...Phoenix Comicon Fan Fest!

I am super excited! I didn't think I'd get into Comicon so quickly. I was on the waitlist, and the estimate was that I'd get in sometime in 2017. So, I'm working on a ton of geeky things for the con, and I will be updating the blog as details happen!

Today's makeup tutorial is an Oiran, or Japanese Courtesan look. I LOVE this look, it's beautiful! This video is from Kawaii Pateen, and is in Japanese, but with English subtitles.

What did you think?
As always, if you try this tutorial let us know! Email us at candygraffitishop@gmail.com with photos or links to videos if you post one, so that we can feature it on the blog!

As always...stay fabulous!

Halloween Creepy Butler Makeup Tutorial!

Hello darlings!

Halloween is coming! I'm super excited!!! This is my absolute favorite holiday of the year! It is said that during this time of year the veil between the living and the deceased wanes to its thinnest point, and in some traditions offerings of food and drink are left out for visiting loved ones who have departed the physical world.

I also enjoy any excuse to pull out a cosplay. :3

I thought this would be a great time to start posting makeup tutorials again, so today I'm posting a creepy butler makuep tutorial by Kawaii Pateen!

This video is in English, so it is easier to follow along! :3

As always, if you try this tutorial, post in the comments how it went, and if you have pics and video send them to us(candygraffitishop@gmail.com) so we can feature it on the blog!

(Pssst...we're still looking for models for Kikori Con too, so if you're interested read the entry here and send us an email! :3 )

As always...stay fabulous!

Saboten News and Cosplay Makeup Tutorial

Hello darlings!
Saboten is just over a week away and we are in full chaos mode!

Pardon the mess...xD

Anywho...we have big news!!

We will be participating in Saboten's JFashion show! :D

It will be taking place Saturday night on August 30th, at 7:00PM. Designers can send two outfits down the runway, so we'll be doing a pop kei and a visual kei outfit. Since Talisha is moving to her new apartment the same weekend as Saboten, my friend Andrea from Accessories by Annie is helping me with the artist alley table Friday and Saturday. She will also be modeling for the show. :3 Click the pic above for the Facebook event page.

Since Saboten is so close I wanted to share a basic makeup tutorial I found while cruising YouTube for pho recipes and fashion videos. :3 MangoSirene is a seasoned cosplayer who has a whole series called Cosplay 101, and this is a tutorial for basic cosplay makeup.

I adore this tutorial for many reasons. She doesn't use designer makeup, and shows that you can look fabulous on a budget. This resonates with me because E.l.f. is my best friend when it comes to good cheap makeup and brushes. xD She also explains the importance of wearing basic makeup for cosplay photos(the camera shows EVERYTHING!). As with any good makeup tutorial she explains what she uses, how she uses it, and why you need it.

As we get closer to Saboten I'll be posting more cosplay videos and sneak peeks of new inventory. In the meantime, check out MangoSirene's channel and, as always...
Stay fabulous! <3

Back in AZ/Demon Dolly Makeup Tutorial!

Hello darlings!

I actually arrived in AZ on Monday, but it was a long, HOT drive(no AC in the van), so it took a couple of days to get me back on my feet. I'm finishing up orders, and I've switched my mailings to evenings so I don't fry in the summer heat.

In the meantime, Fetsu Chan has posted a new makeup tutorial and I can't wait to try it! It's a tutorial for a demon dolly look. I love it because it's Kawaii, but it also has a darker, pastel goth edge to it.

I'm going to play around with this one at some point and see how I can work it into my visual kei wardrobe. :)

If you like this tutorial go give Fetsu Chan some love! If you use it, let us know how it worked and send us pics of your look! We'd love to be able to feautre them(and send them to Fetsu Chan too since this is her video)!

I'll be working on more posts this week, and easing the blog back into normalcy. It's been a long month and the dust is finally starting to settle. :3

As always, stay fabulous!

Aaaaaand it's Monday. (Easy tutorial day!)

(Can't you tell just how EXCITED I am about this? No? Really?)

If you've been following today's Facebook posts, you've seen that there is, in fact, a horrible case of The Mondays sweeping through the stuido today. Even my cats haven't come to life yet, and there's fresh food in their dish(which they go nuts for on every other day of the week).

I figured that this video is quite fitting for the day. :) It's a simple, super cute tutorial by JemmaKuma for a simple, everyday kawaii makeup look, perfect for days like this when maybe you just don't feel like dealing with blending ombre shadows or lining your lower lash line.

Her tutorial is easy to follow, she explains each step in detail, and shows what brands and colors of makeup she uses. She also gets interrupted by a spider. xD

She has lots of cute makeup and hair tutorials on her channel. :)

She also has a second channel, Jemminem, where she posts random fun things, skits, rants, and other musings. :)  Both are highly recommended.

Well, I should probaby log off before my boyfriend's computer bursts into flames or something equally heinous/Mondayish. Stay out of trouble, kids!

Visual Kei Wednesday: FABULOUS Makeup Tutorial

So...it looks like the Visual Kei Wednesday column will be a bi-weekly thing. xD And it's very late this week.

Sorry about that. Life is chaos right now.

Anywho, to make up for not posting last Wednesday I present to you a tutorial of epic proportions!

I absolutely LOVE this tutoral! It's detailed, but the steps are easy to follow, and the results are so worth it! KisaMake has lots of amazing makeup tutorials on YouTube. In the video description there is a list of the makeup used, and it is shown in the video as well. Tutorials are usually spoken in Japanese, but there are English translations. :)

I will definitely be giving this look a try, minus the foundation(so my face doesn't turn into the breakout from Hell), and experimenting with eyeshadow colors. I want to try purple and yellow, as well as red and orange. I haven't used bindis in a long time, I should probably go restock now. :P

If you give it a try, let us know in the comments what you come up with! :) Also go check out KisaMake's YouTube channel for more tutorials!

Until next time...stay fabulous!
